Have you been to Disneyland lately? They have a system for some of the most popular rides call the ‘fast pass’. Here’s how it works….When you know that you want to ride Space Mountain, for example, along with everyone else in the park, you can get a fast pass which will give you a window of time later in the day during which you can come back and get through the line much faster.
On our recent vacation to DisneyWorld we used the fast pass system for the Big Thunder Mountain RollerCoaster. We got our fast pass about 1 o’clock that told us to come back between 4:15 and 5:15 for our short cut to the ride. In the meantime we went and did some other activities, rode some rides with less of a line and had lunch.
When we returned to the ride at 4:15 we were on the coaster within 15 minutes while those who didn’t plan ahead with the fast pass had a 70 minute wait. Planning ahead pays off especially when you have smaller children who don’t do well in an hour long line.
Not everything in life can be handled like a DisneyWorld fast pass but planning ahead can definately save time and money, not to mention stress.
Think about calling your presciptions ahead or even getting on auto renewal as just one example of how to save the time waiting in line. Think about planning your meals for the week ahead of time – there’s lots of HUGE benefits for this; you can shop only for what you need that week (save money), you are more likely to eat at home if you have a plan (saves money and calories), you get to sit together as a family and have dinner together (saves relationships).
A little planning goes along way! Want some more ideas for this? Write and comment with your challenges and I’ll give you some feedback!

Anything about Disneyland I have to read! But to add to their talent for being organized, they plan years in advance, and down to detail. When we were there for Julie Anderson’s Book Launch, we went to the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar where they show all their upcoming projects, and it was amazing. The way they build so that they cut down on noise pollution, plus the space for sitting and events like their new ‘World of Color’ in 2010, so that everyone can see! It’s so amazing! Definite organization… probably why it’s the ‘happiest place on earth.’
